whatta ya think?  never done it before, but would a P1 let you run mics (via the xlr ins) and a board feed (via the rca ins), provided the deck is set to "line" in?

or does one input override another whern both are used?

You might try asking your question on the Oade Board.  I seem to remember Doug telling me there was some way to do this when I bought my DA-P1 years ago.
