OK, first off, I just quickily ordered a card from newegg for my brand spankin' new HP Pavillion. Well, it didnt fit, not even close :(

Here is a link to the wrong card I bought:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815124057&cm_re=low_profile_firewire_card-_-15-124-057-_-Product

Well, Ive been bugging my comp nerd cousin and he says I need a pci express x16 or x1 lopro fw card. But newegg isnt very specific :P

So here is a link to ALL of newegg's low pro FW cards. I'd REALLY APPRECIATE it if someone smarter than the 2 of us could point me in the right direction of a FW card that would DEFINITELY work w my new PC :) 8)

Here is a link to ALL of newegg's lopro FW Cards:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=low+profile+firewire+card&x=18&y=30

Thank You VERY MUCH in advance and I'm looking forward to getting the right FW card for my 722. After I purchase that my new PC setup will PHINALLY be complete :) 8)

From looking at the slots on my PC and the pics on Newegg.com, this one looks like a match. But can anyone say that it is for sure ???

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007531%20600022028&IsNodeId=1&name=PCI%20Express%20to%201394%20Card

I'll look at the computer specs in a min and get back to you.

ok

according to this your motherboard has the following expansion slots

Quote
    *
1 PCI Express x16 slot for graphics card
    *
      3 PCI Express x1 slots
    *
1 PCI Express x1 minicard slot

I would go with a PCIe x1 card like this

You need the one that says low profile, so that it will fit in the case.

This one was listed in your link of low profile cards.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815124072&cm_re=low_profile_firewire_card-_-15-124-072-_-Product

Pci express to 1394.

Welcome back Bean!

EDIT: hmmm... that one I posted is getting lower ratings. You might just want to pay more and go with one of these:

the SIIG
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815150105&cm_re=low_profile_firewire_card-_-15-150-105-_-Product

or the Startech card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815158191&cm_re=low_profile_firewire_card-_-15-158-191-_-Product

Both of these are PCIexpress, have low profile brackets and have a 1394A connector.

Under the comments section called "buzz" I see that a previous buyer mentioned that the low profile option is included.

So that one should fit. I was going by the fact that it wasn't listed under the low profile cards in the link you posted and that your case is 4.1 inches wide.
