External mic/Line Input for Droid phone

I found these cables which allow you to connect 1/8, 1/4 and xlr to your droid but now I need to find the proper app to record music or video with externals. Here are the cables:

I have a little bit of knowledge as it applies to iPhone, I presume this info roughly translates to Driod.  It's fun to play with for a little while, but it's not going to replace even the most basic taping gear.

TRRS is Tip-ring-ring-sleeve, which is the connector for a basic headset... L/R earphones + mono mic input + ground.
- the input is very sensitive... it's designed for someone talking (phone conversation).  Hence the 22db attenuator advertised.
- My daughter has an "iRig" for her iPhone, lets her plug an electric guitar into the phone as an input, instead of an amp there is some software modeling, and then out to her earbuds.  That seemed to work pretty well, although after the newness wore off, I haven't seen her use it.
- A buddy has a similar gizmo with an XLR in (he uses an SM57).  He gave up because of clipping problems.  The correct attenuator would have fixed it, but he lost interest.
- On the iPhone there are "4 track recording" apps, but that just means you can record 1 track at a time, up to 4, then mix them in post within the phone app, with no good way to export them to wav.  It doesn't give you a pocket R4.
