Neumann/Sennheiser service shortened a cable for me.  One cable had an intermittent fault near the lemo.  I asked that when they repair that issue, they please shorten the other cable so that the two would be identical length.  They did it without any comment. I think I paid about $85 for the whole job.

Cool well thats good to know, i just got an email saying they dont mod or do anything like that and said to go to 3rd party. Maybe because yours was already on the bench and in the door for another issue they went ahead and did it.

Is ANYONE on ts.com running Neumann>Lemosax setup ??? Id love to see pics. And if I EVER find my camera, I will snap pics of my mk41>KCY>Lemosax setup, which is SOOOOO KICKASS its SOOOOO small and lightweight. The Neumann have the separate left/right inputs on the Lemosax, correct? While both channels of the Schoeps fits on a single female Binder plug :)
Schoeps MK 4V's & MK 41V's & 250|0 KCY's ->
Naiant +60v & +48v Low Noise PFA's ->
DarkTrain Right Angle Stubby XLR's ->

Correct, the neumanns typically use the lemo plugs. If you had the proper cabling and +/- pin assignment, you could use the individual inputs, but the binder plug makes it easy since the kcy is already done that way.

There might already be pictures circa 2003 or 2006. I can't remember.

If you have the lemo version, it should be pretty easy for someone with decent soldering skills. You can disassemble the lemo. I never tried to disassemble the capsule end but look in that other thread to see who might have done it.

It's probably quite easy to modify the old cable with the Lemo plug.

But I think the new KA cable will be very difficult.

Maybe the best option is to order a custom length from Neumann.
