Bright is a relative term and it means different things to different people.  Try the mics out and see what YOU think.

CM33 --> LittleBox > DR07

and also my personal experience is that "brighter" sounding recordings sound better on computer type speakers without much low end. I think that's why alot of people may think schoeps and other much flatter sounding mics sound "muddy" on their mediocre playback setups.
just some thoughts

hmm, interesting, I've always had better experience with schoeps on thin playback. My POS speakers at work can recreate bass down to about 150hz and after that it has a steep rolloff. On my better equipment which can handle stuff down to 30hz, I find the boom or bloat to be too much and I want to EQ some of it off. I'm primarily concerned with quantity, not necessarily resolution in that regard.

to the OP; this is a great example of how different people hear different things. I agree, run them for a show or two, the worst that could happen is you end up EQing them a touch and moving on to something else.
"This is a common practice we have on the bus; debating facts that we could easily find through printed material. It's like, how far is it today? I think it's four hours, and someone else comes in at 11 hours, and well, then we'll... just... talk about it..." - Jeb Puryear

Concur.  Also, there is the idea that if you start out with something that's not there, you can't put it back.  DPAs are very accurate, and as a result the non-EQ'd source can sound terrible.  You have to be willing to use the EQ a little with a better mic sometimes.

I've listened to some of concordniners' recordings on my Westone 3s through a computer, and I thought they sounded quite good.  Certainly thinner than some of the ultrapremium mics, but damn good sounding.

I love these mics, got them from Berliner for pretty cheap as well.  Haven't been disappointed with these mics.  They are brighter than a lot of the other mics out there, but that's fine with me.

Here are some to check out -
