I taped a show, and now the tracks are gone (JB3)

I taped a show tonight and had two tracks...first and second set.  After it was over I checked and both tracks were there and I even let one of the guys in the band listen to it.  So I get home about 20 minutes later and try to transfer but there are no tracks showing up anywhere.  However, the only thing that makes me hopeful is that the it shows about 1.3 gigs of memory being taken up.  Any idea if these are hidden somehow...neither the player nor the computer shows them, but if nothing was on there then why would it show that space being taken up?

Update: So I transferred a track from my computer to the JB3 to see what would happen.  Transferred fine and was up there.  Then I turned it off and a while later turned it back on.  Now that track is not showing up either.

also, you have the creative playcenter right ???ummm, check in your pc library(altho, if it didnt show up on the transfer, its prolly not there )

and last but not least, they dont show upo under recordings??

I have the latest firmware and creative playcenter.  It isn't just a matter of not showing up in the PlayCenter...they don't show up on the unit at all.  I have checked every possible place on the unit for them and found them nowhere.  At the bar I just hit Music Library and All Tracks and everything was in there.  Since I added the other song from my PC and it dissapeared at least I know it wasn't anything I did.  I am taping a show Sat. night that I am the only taper for and it is kind of a big deal that the band gets a copy...maybe I just shouldn't turn the unit off? lol.

You may want to try a disk cleanup.

you know what, if it was something big like that, id reload my OS or something, at least try and format and do a disc cleanup, but if you do, you'll def lose your show, but your next may turn out better

It is refurbished.  I am trying some stuff now but it freezes during the cleanup.  I have been on the phone with Creative a couple times and they just said if I can't get it right they will replace it.

Pretty much brand spanking new.  I got it one month ago yesterday.  This was only the third show I taped.  When I went in to tape last night the drive was completely empty.  What I mean I guess it that I didn't put it through a bunch of shit...kept it clean.  I've treated this thing like a goddamn child..lol.

id try to clean the drive and start fresh, and if that doesnt werk, get another one asap

I tried to clean the drive but it freezes up every time at exactly 266%.  So now I am going on to the next step which is reloaded the OS.  Charging the batt right now cause it said to have a full batt when doing that.  If that doesn't work looks like I will be reformatting.  Either way I think this one is going back.  Not a huge deal for the show I taped last night but this happening as a regular occurance would not be cool.

For the future...should I run the clean disc from time to time?  Or are there any other general maintainance tips?

A cleanup every now and then is a good idea. Especially if you ever have to hard reset it.

Update:  Well the cleanup just kept freezing.  So I did the Reload OS.  Even after that it would still freeze when it got to "building music library."  So, I had to bite the bullet and reformat.  Now it doesn't freeze up anymore, but on the downside my show from last night is gone forever.  Still think I am going to send this unit back for another one.
