« on: October 20, 2011, 12:05:37 PM »

I'm considering buying some plugin's from waves. I'm curious if anyone has used VST pluggins in audacity.

it's possible but not recommended, the support is really wonky (I found it crashed after about the 4th or 5th plugin run, consistantly), and it won't pipe audio through the plugin for a preview, you have to render it in sections to hear what adjustments sound like. I could put up with the former, but quit using audacity for editing due to the later. I use it to track out stuff now is all.

Reaper has better support, and there are a couple other editors which have better VST support that can be had on the cheap.
