Topic: Four channel recording software

So, occasionally, I like to run my mics into a Tascam US-144 and record a show directly into a laptop through Audacity.  However, I'm under the impression that the US-144 can actually record four channels of audio at once, as opposed to two.  My question is, is there audio software out there that can record four channels simultaneously?  Ideally, I'd like to be able to run the SBD into the XLR outputs on the card, and then run mics > digimod UA5 > S/PDIF > Tascam.  Is that possible?

Did some googling  about Audacity, from what I read quickly, it doesn't work with multiple interfaces well.
