Ok, this might be stupid, but I just can not find it.

I got me a Manfrotto 099B pole to connect to a Manfrotto superclamp (035). This one: http://www.thomann.de/nl/manfrotto_035_super_clamp264_bundle.htm.

Since it came with a stud, I thought i was the good one. Well, I can use it, but not to connect the pole.

So I ordered another one (Manfrotto 061RA Joining Stud RA). Again, it is not the right one.

What stud do i need?

I'd think this one would work: http://www.thomann.de/nl/manfrotto_03638_lightstud.htm

Mine is slightly different - it has a 1/8" screw on one end, and a standard 3/8" on the other. But as long as the flat end of the above fits into the clamp, this will work.

I thought the 099B came with a stud to attach it to the super clamp but I guess I was mistaken.  The stud that acidjack linked to above is the standard one that comes with most super clamps and should work, but the Manfrotto 013 double-ended spigot will work, too, and is the one that I thought came with the 099B.

But that other stud with the wingnut is worth it's weight in gold for making homebrew devices.... a piece of flat bar with a hole drilled in it fits on that stud.  Then a few more holes, and now you can clamp a few sets of mics onto the balcony rail at your favorite theatre/opera house.

The right angle stud is perfect for mating two super clamps and having one clamp at 90 degrees to the other. Handy way of mounting a boom off a balcony. use one clamp on the rail, the other on the pole. bit more stable than using a pin in the end.

The 099B comes with a stud attached to it, on which I can screw the bar (i might need a small part in between, can check now) but I need one for the other side. I think the 36-38 will do, i will try. thanks!

I believe the 099B is supplied with a stud on one end and a socket on the other.  Mine did, but I bought it used, the photos I've seen new show it the same way.

What right angle stud? I've only seen straight studs, but a right-angle one would be useful for many things. Are you referring to the 4" extension pole, by any chance?

No, it is two hexes with a 90 degree offset, it allows you to connect two superclamps at right angles.

Yes Digigal and fobstl are correct the stud is included.  Bought the 099 with extra stud and extension arm (013) about a year ago.  One of the best rig purchases I have made as I have full flexibility to make the footprint of a stand almost obsolete  ;D Very handy especially when in reserved theater situations and also to eliminate anchoring the stand in outdoor situations.  I can clamp to all rails and so far the majority of seat arms.  And when you clamp to a soundboard rail you gain an extra 3.5 - 4 feet.

I think I've developed a Manfrotto fetish. It's just amazing the variety of gadgets made by that one company. What makes it even worse is that photography is actually my first hobby, even though audio recording is rapidly catching up to it, and so I have more reasons to dream up novel uses for all those gadgets  :D.
