Tascam DP004 alternate phantom power
« on: January 19, 2013, 12:15:27 AM »
I have a TASCAM DP-004 Digital 4-track Recorder and would like to hook up the Behringer C-1 Studio Condenser Microphone. The mic requires phantom power. The Tascam does not have phantom power. Could I use the Behringer MIC100 Vacuum Tube Preamplifier with Limiter to get around this? How is the pre amp powered? Will it work to hook up the mic to the preamp to the recorder? Thanks.

Graeme,

Not familiar with that particular pre, but as long as it is battery operated you shouldn't have a problem (my current beginner setup is actually a DP-004 with a ART Dual USB pre out front).

Now You See Me Telefunken M60 Masters/ADK Cremona 251>MixPre6
Now You Don't    Naiant XX or MS-TFB-2-MKII>SP-SB10>Roland R05
