need help id'ing a problem, bad cord or bad preamp

so i recorded mickey hart on friday night, got home and listen to the recording. most notable during the end of china cat sunflower. it sounds like the recorded changes sources maybe internal mics or i dont know if it is the preamp (ua-5 or) or a bad cord

sounds fine they weird noise happens and it gets lower

Is it possibly where the recorder starts a new file?

Pull it into a wav editor and invert the signal on one channel, see if that has a similar effect. Sounds to me like it's going out of phase at the end of china cat.

Check your battery cable!!  I had a buddy with a UA-5 that did a lot of trouble shooting then it turned out he had a bad battery cable.  Your problem sounds similar.

Come to think of it. I have been having issues with my battery cable..
