Does anyone know how we can get Greensky Bluegrass a bt.etree category?  They are certainly popular enough to not be chucked into the "Other" category anymore.  368 shows and counting on the LMA.  Why a band like Schleigho http://bt.etree.org/index.php?cat=153 has a category while Greensky does not makes no sense.  I've used the Contact Us link and sent emails about this before, but nothing.

Anyone?

Better be careful, a Schleigho show just got added recently.  ;D

But I agree, would be nice.

Seems like the hardcore fans stalk BT. I do both sometimes, and the torrent always gets a lot of hits. Plus it's faster to download if there's a good swarm.

I've done this a couple times with no response.  I throw them up on LMA (when the identifier step actually works) but BT still has a ton of traffic so I upload there too.  Seems like it shouldn't be this hard to create a category for a band that is constantly uploaded/downloaded there.

I went through a back channel contact and made the request.  It is on the upload page now and will appear on the main page once someone uploads a show.

For the record, the correct method is to email server@etree.org, but as you've found out, that can be hit or miss (mostly miss).

Why bother with bt when theyre on the archive?

It's all about community for many people.  There's not a great community aspect on LMA.

Folks like to gather in one spot, share and talk about it.  Think of it like a campfire. :guitarist:

Along with that, the LMA has only recently added torrents too.  Before I made the transition from serial downloader into actual taper, I used to hate having to download each individual track from the LMA, so just stuck solely to etree.  It just seemed easier.

And that's mostly the reason most of my music the past decade+ has come from bt.etree.  Do like the new features though.

Yep, mostly miss. Unless something is incredibly broken on that site, there's virtually no maintenance done as far as I'm aware.
