Topic: Carts and Handtrucks

As festival season draws near on the west coast I am searching for a "mule" to make the transport of gear between the camp site and the stage(s) a bit easier.  I've found some really good options, but I also have a small car with very little trunk space... so the traditional heavy duty garden cart won't work.  These are a few of the options I'm considering, but would like to know what other folks are using.  thanks.

This is what I've been using at the Wanee fest for the last two years and completely worth the price. Can fit 3 large rig bags in this cart plus other stuff.

^^^  i saw that one and it did catch my eye.  i'm just not sure it will leave any room in my trunk for the other stuff.

Probably not any smaller when folded, but I sometimes use an old beat up one of these which I bring from work.  It folds flat and stows behind the front seats of my car.  I hook it behind a bike like a trailer by attaching it with bungees to the bike rack and the big wheels on it allow me to cruise through sand pits and the back woods trails to remote primitive camp spots at Suwannee.   Bouncing over the roots on the trail  it sounds like a troop of boyscouts in aluminum canoes!

Tonedeaf and I use a rugged cart that he bought a few years ago. It's der worth every penny at festies like summer camp where you can't camp by your cars

Another vote for the folding wagon Todd linked!!  They fold down small and can haul a lot of gear.  We have been using mine to haul in gear and then put our bags in during the show.  Works great!

thanks for the feedback and helpful suggestions.  there are a lot of great options, and if i had a bigger trunk this decision would be much easier. 

DigiGal:  you're not the first to recommend the baby stroller with modifications.  thanks for the tip.

I use one of the Beach Rollys though I got it much cheaper (around $40) through a kayak shop. The only warning I can give on it is to watch that whatever you load doesn't push the sides out in contact with the wheels. The wheels work great in the soft Florida sand. It can be used as a low seat too.

The beauty about having kids is that they eventually out grow their toys and I also made sure I got this in the divorce agreement 
This is light weight, straps on the top of my car and has fatty tires able to handle muddy situations.



I also have one of these that I use when the wagon is too much.



And lastly I have one of these in my car for a long walk from the car to the venue in an urban situation.

i ended up grabbing one of these and hope it works out.  $73 at Amazon seemed like a decent deal compared ot the other options.  without seeing the other carts in person i was very reluctant to spend $100+. 

update:  i received the cart and am very happy.  it's a breeze to assemble, is pretty sturdy and lightweight.  it easily holds all of my bags and gear and has some holders (intended for fishing poles) that work great to hold a mic stand and a couple of Gakbrellas.
