DIY battery powered phantom box from Shure

while searching a budget solution to power my schoeps I've found this at Shure's website

do you people think it would be ok?
it'd make me able to use my schoeps right away with a sony pcm -m10

Shure is being slightly irresponsible by publishing that schematic without capacitors.

FWIW, the posted schematic had cropped off the info box directly above this schematic that states "OUTPUT MUST FEED A BALANCED INPUT"  I don't think shure ever intended this schematic to be used in the manner the OP is intending.  Just my take on the Shure information.  And I don't know anything about schoeps mics but will the operate correctly on less than P48 voltage?  And I know I have some mics that draw 10mA of power.  Again,  I don't know anything about schoeps mics but will the 9 volt batteries supply enough amperage?

if I understood Jon's advice correctly the potential damage would come from the 18v coming from phantom box being fed into sony's mic in.
the balanced/unbalanced issue comes from the fact that the design is for balanced output/input while sony's m10 has unbalanced input.

you might want to consider this --http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=162742.0 -- the ps2 would provide the p48 phantom power your schoeps cmc5 needs, and the transformers will provide some gain that may (Depending on your circumstances) allow you to run line in on the m10.
