Tascam DR-680 battery

So looking around I couldn't find much on powering these with many specifics.

So I think I'm going to get one of the naztech pb15000 batteries, and a dual cable from Ted.

So my question is does anyone know how long this will last? I can't find anywhere the mah draw, and if anyone knows, ill be doing 4-6 channels no phantom power. So anyone know?

Ill be running 2 littleboxes as my preamps then line in to the 680

Not sure but it will be many many hours if you dont use phantom on the 680. Plenty for a full day of recording i would think

It is also going to depend on if you run it at 9V or 12V and then you need to know what the actual mAh rating is at either of those voltages.  Common marketing/sales practice is to show the highest mAh rating for a variable voltage battery which is accomplished at the lowest voltage.  That would be the USB voltage of 5 volts

You can't go wrong with the Naztech PB15000.  That's what I use to power my DR-680.  It works like a dream.  I just use the stock cable, I've had no issues.

Not sure about battery life though.  I've run it at 12v for hours on end without issue.  Though I never roll tape for more than three or four hours at a time.

Anyway, hope that helps somewhat.

I ran the PB15000 and the generic version with my 680 and I had a hot swapper cable.  I could run 5 hours and only lose one bar on the battery when I wasn't using the 680 pres.  I always ran my batteries at 9v.  Two of them should easily get you 15 hours

based on this statement and what I know about DVD battery life I'd say you are probably looking at 10,000 mAh plus at a 9 volt setting.  Just an informal guess without knowing anything specific about the 680 draw or actual battery capacity

I'm going on record for powering the DR680 with a FIXED voltage power source...Personally I use a Battery Geek 10-14-100 12v 100wh battery. That said...I have also used a Tekkeon that uses Dip switches to change the output voltage. But I always freak about that...never use the Tekkeons that have a button like the Naztech to change voltage.

I run the Battery Geek only about 12hrs between recharges...be sure to put AA's in the base as backup...I forgot once and it bit me. No forgiving loss of power on this unit you will loose the track recording when power goes out.

The Naztech is a great battery.  I wouldn't count on 15 hours at 4 channels, though.  I use it to power my V3 at 9V, 3 hours usually gets me down to 3 bars, occasionally to 2.  Never ran it out, but based on that I would guess 5-6 hours max.
