I posted this over in the Recorder section, but someone suggested I move it to the Microphone section, so here goes:

I just picked up a Marantz PMD-430 Cassette recorder and need some advice on what mics to use with it.

I have a pair of Beyerdynamic MC930's, would there be a way to use these with the recorder since
they will need phantom power?

The Marantz also takes 1/4" Phono plugs....so thats part of the challenge as well.
This is from the PMD-430 Manual:

"Will accept any low impedance microphone utilizing a standard 6mm phone plug.  When using stereo
microphones which use on plug for both the left and right channels, insert that plug into the L (Stereo) Jack."

Thanks!

Well..a preamp that provides phantom power, and then get somebody to make you XLR > 1/4" cables.
