Dead pixels...
« on: May 30, 2014, 01:09:25 PM »
So I dropped my phone the other day and ever since there have been more and more dead pixels. Just a few at first and now a lot more. This is an HTC EVO 4G. I've dropped it a couple times before and nothing like this happened.

Any experience fixing this sort of issue? I'm trying the free apps now that probably won't work. So what's my next step? Is there an easy way to fix this at home, should I take it to a shop, or simply buy a new phone if it bothers me that much? I find the dead pixels to be fairly intrusive...

Dead or stuck?
Dead I don't think you can do anything about
Stuck maybe. I read you can apply pressure to them via something small and pointy and it may unstick. Actually tried it on a tv and it changed colors but is still stuck, just less noticeable

There may be a pixel concealment procedure for the phone but it probably means taking it in for service.   It's not likely be a user setting and would require access to a service menu.  Try a google search though with pixel concealment and your phone model.
