powering a behringer eurorack UB-802 in the field??

a buddy would loove to run this at an upcoming festival, and he doesnt wanna lug his car starter kit in, i wouldnt either!!

heres a link too it, it pretty much looks like hes screwed, since the power input says boldly, AC POWER IN, and also, ONLY USE BEHRINGER POWER SUPPLY!!!

behringers stuff is AC...to my knowledge they have no DC mixer offerings.  So in order to use it, one of those portable Car Battery kits is probably his only option.

I have a behringer mxb1002 and it runs on 3 internal 9v batts.  It lasts about 4 hrs if you are light on the headphones (found that out the hard way), and has phantom but only 24v on ac and 18v on dc.  I just recently got a responce from them to my question about external power.  They were very dodgey about it and said I should consult a tech in my area, but would void my warranty.  I know I could run external 9vs to the std 9v connectors, but I would still only get my 18v phantom.  My mics are rated to work on 18v, but the 24v makes a difference in sound... even more diff than from 24 to 48.  If I figure anything out I will post.  Neither my transformer or the input says weather it is an ac or dc input... I'm still trying to at least find that out.

never heard em, but my buddy is really happy w/ it so far, but you know how that upgrade bug is........

also, carrying car chargers isnt too fun, carrying a ua5 and some rc batts isnt nearly as tiring, and also has digi out/s

yes... I have both, and the ua-5 is supierior without question.  Much easyer to pack as well.
