Topic: Does this type of wind protection for an MS rig exist already?

Seems like the more I read this place, the more that I realize that every problem I have had has likely been solved already on this forum and the solution is lurking in an undiscovered-by-me thread, so hence my idea/question here.

I have an Sennheiser 30/40 mid-side setup with a Rycote stereo windshield and while that kit works wonderfully, I would like to have the option to leave the blimp at home and just slip on what amounts to a Rycote softie on the pair of mics, but to my knowledge, that doesn't exist.  So, has anyone made this or is it commercially available?  See the picture...  It would seem that I could have TBrown customize a dead muppet to slip over some modified windscreens and have some reasonable wind protection that was much more portable than the blimp, when I didn't want to take the blimp with me.  What do you think?  Am I re-inventing the DIY wheel here?

You could use something like the Schoeps WMS windscreen with the appropriate Rycote Windjammer.

Cool, I didn't know about that WMS screen.  ....quick trip to B&H....  Wow, Schoeps is really proud of their foam!  $53 for a foam windscreen....GULP.   So, it seems that the idea is legit and it could simply be executed DIY-style or via the European$...

I have ran it that way a whole bunch of times. Although I made my own Windjammer, the screen works well with an m/s bar or the Rycote dual clips (like in the referenced picture).

Schoeps WMS windscreen is absolutely worthless (other than a dust protector) in even a gentle breeze.  A deadrat/windjammer cover is a must.

Yeah, I must agree. Even in a moderate wind you gotta use both.
