computer recording with a minime (need help)
« on: April 23, 2004, 08:29:55 PM »
I want to try and make a recording using my laptop and minime and just wanted a few suggestions for yall.  How reliable is it to record through the usb on my winbook laptop?  will it do 24 bit recording?  Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

should be able to.  can't go over 48 kHz over USB.  don't know the specs on your laptop, so cannot comment on reliability.

I run a Vaio with a Mini-me, and I normally have the ASIO settings at 24@48.  A few times I had to set a lower sample rate becuase of space issues on my hard drive.  A sample rate of 24@48 uses silently more then 1G per hour.  As far as drop outs goes, I haven't experienced any yet.

good luck!   :)
