New RIGG >>loose play back problem???
« on: April 25, 2004, 07:18:59 PM »
newbie here.. :afro:

im running  AKG 391's> UA-5 digi mod> sony D8.. i think im recording fine but when i play it back through the line out into headphones or my sony reciever, i get choppy sound sometimes in the middle of the songs.. some of it sounds great and the levels on my sony D8 jump up and down..

could it just be a loose conection?  my cables are new..

could be misaligned tape heads, bad cables..any chance you can post a sound sample, or a waveform?

I agree, would be helpful to hear an example of the problem you're experiencing.  Could be a bad line-out connection or cable as well.  I know in the past I've encountered what appears as static or choppy music when I wiggle (even minimally) a bad line-out connection.

sony portables are notorious for loose 1/8" jacks, i've personally seen it on more than one.  watch the levels, if they don't go in and out when the sound does it's probably the jack.

see the levels do go in and out when the sound comes out.. the levels drop when no sound and spike real high when it comes back in..  stays normal for a couple of seconds and starts all over, spiking and droping?
i thought it was my jack.. i just got the dat D8 from a dude on ebay..

any way to hear my recording with out using the line out jack?  probable not huh
