Handheld mic bar or mic holder/support?
« on: November 18, 2016, 08:47:02 PM »
Would anyone know of some kind of handheld mic bar or mic holder/support for recording in stereo with two DPA 4060s? Something that could be carried around to record ambient sounds. Something other than a coat hanger.

A good place to start is Gutbucket's oddball thread.  Lots of potentially useful tips in there, including a telescoping TV antenna (remember those?), which I have used many times for a quick, easy, lightweight set-up...

I have used this pistol grip handle for a video camera.

Maybe you could adapt a mount bar for it.

Rycote makes a pistol grip lyre shockmount dealio but it's pretty spendy like all their stuff.

Thanks. I'll check out the oddball thread.

Re: pistol grip. Thanks. I have a pistol grip iPhone holder somewhere. It's for when you take video, but I'll dig it out and see if can be adapted.
