Yup, it absorbs all vibrations and essentially isolates the microphones...which is important with these little suckas since they are soldered to alligator clips.  I will often gaff-tape a coaster to a beam and clip the CA-14's to them while running an extension cable down to a deck...they work wonders.

FYI: SRS makes XY mounts for CA-11's and DIN mounts for CA-11/14's now.

They cost a bit more than bar coasters, though.

15" acrylic bar I bought for a dollar. Tape wraps around the center so it fits more snuggly in the shockmount. Double sided tape on the ends, so the mic clips have a better grip.

I use a Manfrotto 14-38 Rapid Adapter Stud to 3/8": https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/546490-REG/Manfrotto_014_38_014_38_Rapid_Adapter.html
And a 3/8" to microphone screw adapter with a Shure A53M Shock mount on top. Just run the Shapeways bars through the shock mount and clip in your mics.

Ran this set up all weekend at Festival International de Louisiane, and even in pretty good winds at about 10' the stand didn't budge.

I made mic bars up for my AT853 years ago out of cPVC pipe.  I wrapped a layer of felt inside of the cPVC and the mics are snug and hold tight.  Attached are my drawings I used to make my bars.  I place the bar in a single shock mount.  Painted them black.
