The Beacon is a strange Place...sometimes the workers will not let you fasten anything to the chairs(if you were going to zipt-ie or duct tape your stand closed) if they see you doing it.  I know alot of people Clamp to the Balcony.
I dont know if its for every band, but for the Mule and ABB you can tape from your seat, otherwise they stick the TS in the back of the Orch underneath the overhang.  You may want to clamp from the Balcony.
Shoot Scott Brown a PM, he's a Beacon Regular  ;)

Well, I can atleast tell ya that the Beacon is pretty relaxed on Checking Bags when you first come in.
Dont really know if there would be enough room for a tripod in the loge or balcony...maybe if you had the first row of the loge you could "rig" something up...i dont really have any good advice on the subject, sorry.

I got a really sweet recording from the back of the orchestra, of Gov't Mule on 12/30/03, using stealth mics (SPCMC2s) mounted on my glasses. I looked really daft, but the results were worth it.

I think because the soundboard is also located there, the sound engineers make sure the sound is perfect.

you can pretty much do whatever you want at the beacon.  just don't advertise what you're doing...
