NJB3 Newbie Help
« on: May 21, 2004, 03:25:13 PM »
;DWell I took the plunge and bought a NJB3...now the fun begins. I bought a 20gb model off e-bay with a catch...(dont know whether I will be proven smart or stupid here....) the player supposedly freezes when reformatting the harddrive. I dont have the player yet, but I am trying to get myself prepared for what I might have to do. The freeze on the format is the only known problem. Has anyone had a similar experience? Can this be fixed with a simple firmware update? Any other suggestions? A poor college student thanks you.

hope it isn't freezing because the HD is shot.......

me too me too...and I have prepared myself for that...you need a 2.5" harddrive to replace it correct? I have looked at e-bay and I think I would get like a 30 gb model... dont know. Keeping my fingers crossed... :-\

The 1/st thing I would do is remove the battery(ies) and get a paper clip and reset the player and see if this solves the problem. I had a funky thing happen with my JB3 the other day w/ a upgrade OS and nothin' worked and I thought I would lose my whole OS and all my tunes but I did the ole' reset and ever thing was peachy.
