So I’ve had one for about two years now and have been pleased with the run time on both my V2 and 722. Only gripe I have is the charge time. It takes what I think is a ridiculously long time to recharge. Over 10 hours and that’s crazy. Is there a faster charger available than the one that comes with the battery?

I should have been clearer with my post. I’m referring to festival use where the battery is running gear all day long. Getting home or back to hotel in the early AM and going back to the festival by noon doesn’t leave you much time to fully recharge these Talentcells. These batteries take more than the 10 hours stated on their website to fully recharge when run down to one light. I think the smart play for multi day festival use is to have more than one of these batteries.

I bought a second 12V/11000mAh Tallentcell for festival use and alternate between them day to day.  One powers the rig all day, while the other recharges.

Also nice to have a second on hand for other purposes between fests like charging phones or whatev.

With Peach Festival approaching I’m finally getting around to having backup power supplies. Just ordered another Talentcell for my 722 and a backup Anker USB-C for my MixPre 6. $100 later, should be good to go!

Just remember how heavy your bag was when you were slinging lead! These talentcells are so nice!

And its not just the weight, although that's huge in and of itself.  One Tallentcell replaces something like 5 or 6 old-school "DVD batteries" for me.  Their reliable high capacity just makes everything easier, similar to when SD cards evolved to the point where they provided sufficient excess capacity without having to swap DATs or flip cassettes constantly.    Progress!

Too funny. My big bag peaked in the early 00’s with Neumann shotguns, V2, Sony D10, 2 Eco Charge batts, cables and whatever all in one huge bag. I remember hailing a cab in NYC in the pouring rain and at first almost denied a pregnant lady the cab, finally caving and sharing. That was the end of the big bag.

Was having a similar discussion the other day about how the mid 00's seemed to be when differences in rig sizes grew most substantial. 

When the Edirol R09 first came out and SD card recording was still relatively new, I recall hitting a fest in early '06 with a new compact DPA rig (4060>MMA6000>R09) which except for the mic stand fit entirely into a small shaving bag along with DVD battery and extra 8GB SD cards.  That doesn't seem overly significant today, but while setting up a bunch of tapers running LD mic DAT rigs with outboard pre's and seperate ADCs powered by multiple SLAs along with boxes of spare DATs and everything else all gathered around in amazement checking it out and asking questions.. about the little SD recorder in particular that could record @24bit for 8hrs to a single card.  Much fun patching my other R09 out of some of those top-notch heavyweight, "of the previous era" rigs.
