Nicky C Sony A-10 Mod

So this is the 4th deck that Nicky modded
because of a broken input Jack that came
unsoldered from board. Not 4 A-10's, but R9, R5 and M10
The last picture is of all the parts we left out
Like mics, mounting screw, led light, speaker etc

How/why is the input jack breaking?
Is it a poor solder on the board and just from normal use?
Do you run mic or line input with baby nbox?
Can you still switch between mic/line input via menu?
Does the removal of those parts improve/lower noise?

Thanks for pics and info!

Mine all broke from just heavy use inside my pockets
stealthing a lot of shows. If I had used them open taping in a bag
none of them would have broke. You can still switch between line and mic.
Deck works fine without missing parts!

^Thanks.. I'm going "all in" (kind of) with the A10 as my small recorder... hoping it doesn't fall apart on me. It's good to know that there are solutions if needed.

Mod perfectly dedicated to the task.

Almost to the point where the A10 bits might be transplanted directly into the Nbox.

I would definitely be tempted by this. Especially since you can basically run the thing entirely from the app.
