MP3Tag (program) questions
« on: May 23, 2022, 03:10:08 PM »
1.) After I tag my 24/48 FLAC copy, can I use the same info to quickly tag my 16/44.1 WAV copy?

2.) Is there a shortcut to somehow prevent copy/pasting from individual cells to the rest of the field/column?

1.) Yes:
Open 24/48 flacs in Mp3Tag.
Select 24/48 files Ctrl+A.
Copy tag info Ctrl+C.
Clear 24/48 file list and add 16/41 flacs (do not close Mp3Tag).
Select 16/41 files.
Paste info Ctrl+V.
Save files.

2) I am sorry, I don't know. You can export individual cells to a file and then reload these cells.

You can also manually bulk edit individual cells:
Select files you want to change.
Replace individual cell.
Save files.

1.  Sweet.  Time saver gained.
2.  It seems like this should be possible.  It looks so much like a spreadsheet that I *assume* it would have this type of command as an option.
Thank you.

This program can take scripts as well.

I use Foobar and Live Show Tagger to do most of the heavy lifting but LST won't create album names so I have a script in MP3Tag that does the Album tag generation for me from the Venue field generated by LST.  I think that the action is "tag - tag" and then I change Album to %year% - %venue%

You can do scripts in Foobar2000 to also create the Album field.

I'm pretty sure Gordon has written some instructions. I'll look when I get home from work.

I just figured it out.

Select files
Right Click | Tagging
Manage Scripts
Add | Format value from other fields
Destination Field Name: ALBUM
Formatting Pattern %date% - %venue%

From that point your new script has been made so you can right click files | tagging | manage scripts and run your script

Yes, and you can save scripts in case you need to use a different script you have access to what you have already created.
