Schoeps K5U
« on: January 27, 2023, 01:39:11 PM »
I think that’s the model name.  Schoeps cable for the CMC1L or CCM mics.  Is there an adapter to plug the lemo into to make a complete XLR cable set?  Even a short cable would be nice.

Thanks.

There are a few LEMO cables from Schoeps and also some from Rycote and Ambient Recording:

Look at - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1077853-REG/ambient_recording_a_mk1_2lu_adapter_cable_ta3f_to.html
and https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1245732-REG/rycote_17033_cyclone_lemo_cable_16.html
and https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1635005-REG/schoeps_k_5_l_ta3_16.html

Both the Ambient and Schoeps above are TA3 connectors.  Schoeps also makes an XLR3 connector to LEMO cable, and these are included with every single or stereo set = https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/962576-REG/schoeps_k_5_lu_adapter.html .

Also, as linked in the previous post, the Schoeps stereo 2x LEMO to XLR5, and Ambient also makes a stereo as well as 3x LEMO connectors to XLR7, and Rycote sells a connbox stereo.

I have the cables.  They are the Schoeps K 5 LU.  Lemo to XLR-M.  I’m wondering if there is a way to attach this cable to a XLR-F connector.  If not, I’ll trade them for some microphone cables or sell them.  Or cut them and make my own.  I’d hate to cut these though.

If you were referring to the Lemo end, I'm not aware of any Lemo-female socket that would enable you to make a Lemo-female to XLR3F cable.

That's what I'm looking for.  Thanks for the help.

Both ends products are out there, somewhere.  I doubt Schoeps would invest to manufacture them for only themselves.  Still looking....   Neumann's new MCM miniature mic system has a similar appearance with both male and female attachable parts ( https://en-de.neumann.com/mcm-system ).

Just saw a product at B&H and contacted a tech rep there - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1493554-REG/ambient_recording_ak_xlr3f_l3_xlr_3f_to_lemo_3_pin.html/specs?ap=y

Although the form and format of this piece matches the Schoeps mic lemo, but is made of metal vs the mic cables plastic part, I was told this cable CANNOT be used or fit CMC 1L or their other Lemo mic products.
