Topic: Anyone used this swivel mount with CMC1KV bodies?

Good afternoon,

I have officially joined Team Schoeps! I have a pair of MK4's on the way and CMC1KV bodies.
Does anyone know if this swivel mount will work with the CMC1KV's considering they have the cables on the side instead of the back?

With these, you may be better off using the clips that come with your mics on a vark style bar. I would post in Team Schoeps for advice - I don't think SRS has any mounts available for these side mount bodies at this time but I'm sure he can design one.

Randy, not sure which pattern you are looking for, but I recently bought one of these: https://www.shapeways.com/product/23PYLA8W5/din-cm4-v4?optionId=317009343&li=shops which is perfect for my  LA CM-3's. It has occurred to me that this mount, or the LA mounts in this series in general would work for multiple 19-20mm short bodied mikes. I find that to measure out true DIN measurements, my CM-3's are pretty far "Back" in the holster and with your side out set to just clear the back of the inside of the mount, I think you would be about spot on. I have a set of calipers if you would like me to measure anything out for you on this.

Sorry I'm late, but I'll never not use my Rycote invision mounts.  Best shock mounts ever, IMO.  Of course, the downside to the short CMC bodies is accommodating a windscreen, but I'd be hard pressed not to do everything possible to go with a pair of these if it was me.  Just my opinion.

One of my taping buddies uses only one of these rycotes per mic pair and then puts the DIN/DINA swivel mount in the single Rycote...obviously the Rycote provides the shock protection.  I guess that works, but I've never been much of a fan of the swivel type mounts since they've tended to sag on me, but then again I used them with a donut mount.  I do think the Rycote probably holds the swivel pretty solid, especially with the shorty CMC bodies since there wouldn't be much torque on the swivel mount.

PS:  Randy, would you mind PMing me sometime.  I had a problem with a hard drive and lost something like an hours-worth of the master from one of my all time favorite recordings that I made of MMW from Mr Smalls back in I think 2011.  I think I recall that you are/were their archivist, so I was hoping to retrieve that portion of the show from someone that downloaded it when I shared it on etree all those years ago.  TIA if you could help me out.
