Topic: PCM-M10 - CA 11s - battery box - settings question

While I'm not new at this, I am a bumbling fool with holes in his memory. 

I've had this PCM-M10 + CA 11s + battery box over 10 years and used it a few dozen times at shows. Always came out good. Theater shows, acoustic/rock amplified (on the softer side of "rock"). My last taped show was in 2022 - and the levels came out extremely low. This was using LINE-IN, Rec level was probably 3 to 4.

For a Dylan concert, for instance, on the floor but toward the middle/back -what would your levels be?

LINE IN at 5 to 6 rec level?
MIC In at 3 to 4?
Plug in Power OFF or On?

Testing now with my stereo, I'm tempted to try the MIC IN. I wish I could remember how I did it ten years ago!

My rule with the M10 was always: If I feel like I need earplugs, go LINE IN. Otherwise, MIC IN.
