Ripping audio from bluray discs
« on: May 16, 2024, 03:39:27 PM »
I've bought the Who's Next/Lifehouse box and there is some stereo material on the final (bluray) disc that isn't on any of the CDs. I'd like to rip it to my NAS so I can actually listen to it.

A bit of Googling suggested that a combination of MakeMVK and DVDAudio Extractor would do the trick but unfortuantely the disc has something called BD+ that prevents the latter from decrypting the files and extracting the audio.

I have two questions... Is there a freeware way of extracting the audio? And also, is there anyone here who has already ripped the Steven Wilson stereo mixes that are on this disc and is happy to share them with me? Happy to provide photographic evidence that I've actually bought the box if required  :)

Did you ever get this sorted?

With a current version of makemkv and the right firmware on a bluray drive, you can extract BD+.  the makemkv forums detail this.  I'd give more information, but I haven't paid attention in a few years at this point.

Could you play the Blu-ray on your computer and record the audio at the same time
