List of the abbreviations?

Newbie here and was wonder if there is a list of the abbreviations? Would be nice to have a master list.

PS; Kinda joking, but I'd guess that not many here on ts.com know what these stand for.  I mean, we all know that they're mic configurations (e.g. 17, 20 or 30cm spacing and 90 or 120 degrees angle of incidence) but we don't know what the acronyms stand for.  I know I don't and I've been taping for over 25 years.

They are abbreviations of the national recording organizations that originally developed the associated stereo microphone configuration. Some of these organizations longer exist or now go by a different name:

Office de Radiodiffusion Télévision Française (French) > ORTF
Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (Dutch) > NOS
Deutsches Institut für Normung (German) > DIN
Radio Audizioni Italiane (Italian) > RAI
etc..

Rolls right off the tongue, and fits squarely in the category of "more info than you really need."  ; )

They are all different variations on the configuration of a two-channel, near-spaced stereo-microphone pair.  The important thing isn't so much the name but the spacing /angle associated with it:

ORTF = capsules spaced 17 cm (6.7 inches) / angled 110° 
DINA = capsules spaced 17 cm (6.7 inches) / angled 90° 
DIN = capsules spaced 20 cm (7.8 inches) / angled 90° 
RAI = capsules spaced 21 cm (8.3 inches) / angled 100° 
NOS = capsules spaced 30 cm (11.8 inches) / angled 90°

I didn't "bite" on this one as I was waiting for some "clarity" of the question.
Others have added a few "abbreviations" which are mostly tapers' nomenclature.

Since someone actually came up with a serious answer, the one that you'll see not regarding mic configuration often is DFC - dead fucking center.
