Found this:

https://www.audio-technica.com/en-us/support/a-brief-guide-to-microphones-whats-the-pattern#line-microphones

Audio technica does call them line cardioids or mini shotguns.

I recorded Eric Clapton with them today. Big arena show. I was way at the back of the arena. 20 meters or more behind FOH.

Used 2 rigs. 1: Audio technica at 853 > line cardioids (mini shotguns) > ca-9200
2: schoeps cmbi + mk4

I'll post some samples when I'm back home. I tell you these line cardioids (mini shotguns) sound amazing....!

Thanks for the updates on these. I'm interested in hearing the schoeps comparison whenever you get a chance.

I have only ran these ONCE, I'm disappointed in myself but I have a hard time mounting these. It was in a room that seems to NEVER give me good results, and unfortunately the trend repeated itself, although I do think it ended up being better than previous attempts. I'll have to figure out a mounting solution and get some samples going.

You're welcome.
I have ignored these audio technica line cards myself as well for a very long time, but I think they sound really great.
They can be mounted in a Kangol very easy. Just put them left and right above your ears.

Here are the samples from the Eric Clapton show. I did not EQ these. This is exactly what was recorded that night.

I was located on the floor all the way to the back. 20 meters behind the FOH.
