Multiple, large files sound like something that you might work with?

August Patch Tuesday is not your friend

"Lost Drive"  sounds like it could be seriously bad

Note to self ...  Never be an early adopter on software.
In two weeks this will very likely not be an issue.
...except, maybe for those with corrupted SSD drives
At $200 - $300 for a 4TB SSD these days, Mr. Microsoft, you have a bunch of explaining to do....
And all the data, video, pictures, music, and Summer memories

This could be a cluster-F-Drive

I wonder if that is holding up the Dead & Co Live Golden Gate Park 2025 series?

Doesn't windows push updates without asking anymore?
It lets you pause for a day or a week but then just goes ahead?

If you search Updates and dig into settings, you should be able to control it to a reasonable extent.
It is completely hackable, but experience is recommended and also taking full backups first.
We're manipulating the actual OS.

This is why I got a MacBook. ...Not perfect, but better
Microsoft seems to have gotten careless and cheap with support.
They fired a few sharp ones who knocked our door for work.
More than we could afford, but they showed incredible product knowledge.

I gotta get around to dual-booting into Linux for the mission critical stuff.

Everything except tonight's show is backed up 2X locally, and end of month I do a dump to an off-site drive. And there's the LMA too. :)

THanks for this. The article is less than specific. HEre is another with slightly more IT style info:

According to a user with a SanDisk Extreme Pro M.2 NVMe 3D SSD, the drive became inaccessible after installing a 50GB update for Honkai: Star Rail. Although restarting the system resolved the issue, the user encountered it again on multiple occasions in August. Suspecting the KB5062660 update as the cause, the user deleted the update file, after which the problem no longer occurred.

By the looks of it, the issue doesn’t seem to be widespread. While we wait for Microsoft and SSD manufacturers to acknowledge the bug, it is best to stay cautious, especially if you are dealing with large continuous file transfers on systems running the latest Windows 11 KB5063878 update.
