Topic: How come that some quality audio tapes still has distortion?

Curious, how does track width of 4 tracks on typical stereo cassette compare with 24 across 2"?

No guess, no frame of reference. The guys I watched would always leave an empty track on each side of anything they were smashing btw. In hindsight, I wonder what you'd get just listening back to those.
