I don't get it for our applications, like I need a hot pink SDC.  But to make folks in a studio or on stage feel special, go for it.

I'm a photographer mostly, and I remember when Leica did their customization program.  That actually was cool, because you could do functional things with it (swap viewfinders, framelines, etc.).

Sadly, well, way out of my budget now, that is gone.  But I don't mind.  It's just bling money and has zero effect on the end product.
