Post Production for Mid-side (w/ Wavelab 4.0) ?
« on: June 24, 2004, 12:29:22 PM »
Ok folks,

I ran the rig last night for a reggae show, (mk8+mk4) > kcy > vms02ib > ad1k > jb3, and I did not matrix on the fly.  I ran each capsule into a different channel and then held off on mixing until I got home.  Now I don't have Wavelab in front of me, but who has done this post production that can shed the light?  I found the directions for Soundforge, but I prefer Wavelab for the time being.  Anyone with experience in this step, please lemme know what I should do.  I realize that there needs to be three tracks, 1) both 2) mk8 3) mk4, but that's all I know so far.  Thanks in advance!!! ;D

Todd

In case anyone is interested, here are the details from the show:

Dub Is A Weapon

Featuring members of Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra and Easy Star Allstars

After just a short time together, Dub Is A Weapon has already been
hailed as,  "a sprawling supergroup that combines the spacey atmospherics
of dub with the brassy big-band soul of African pop" (New York
Magazine).  Their hard-hitting combination of militant beats and live
dub mixing has quickly gained them a loyal following on their home turf
of New York City.  With a solid number of  "irresistibly irie"
(Flavorpill) performances behind them, Dub Is A Weapon has a firm
foundation upon which to start spreading its gospel of dub.  Fans and
critics alike should prepare themselves for future sessions of rootical
beats and heavy bass from a group that is truly dedicated to the
preservation of live dub chemistry.

Best bet would be to do it as a montage in WaveLab.
I guess you could mix left and right to mono and another combo of left right to mono then join the two mono tracks as stereo, but montage should do the trick.
