Opinions on I/O MAGIC 8X INTERNAL DVD+/-RW DRIVE

It is a +/- combo drive and on sale (with rebates) for $50 at Staples.

I don't have a DVD-R and the sale ends tomorrow. 

Steer clear or go for it?
