Metal Detectors! ah!

well I was hoping someone could help me out. I have been hearing that metal detectors do not go off when searched when stealthing a show. some say they might.  I would like to know form people who hae stealthed a show and have been wanded have you been caught? this is my setup as I am goin stealthy. Sony D8 + Sony ECM-717 mic. I want to know if any of that will go off? plus I am taping the Cure and I really want to get this taped as the cure is my favorite band!

metal crutches?  my buddy beat a wand with some of those and some loose change, keys, etc.   chain wallet...  jewellery etc.

Yeah, just carry a shitload of stuff in your pockets and act dumb is what I've heard. Take everything out slowly, hold up the line, blah blah blah.

I have passed the 717 off as the hands-free for my cell phone on a few occasions.

Big belt buckles help too.

It depends on how sensitive the wands are set. The battery is enough to set a wand off at it's most sensitive.

The person behind the wand is the real issue though.

I've said "car keys" as my deck set off the wand and not been patted down, and I've had to take everything out of my pockets while I was re-wanded too.

If I can, I watch the lines to see who is doing the worst job and go through them.

Try wearing one of those back supports that you wear around your lower back that are about a foot wide....  tell them it has metal reinforcement and you cant take it off. Insert gear inside.

i know my at831s and jb3 have yet to set off any metal detector wands. i think the battery box did once but i passed it off as something else easy.

it works even better if your not the type of person that would have it.  they jsut look at you weird as hell and let you through...almost wanting to get you away sooner.
