like if you had it in rec/pause + hold, could you turn off hold and start the recording using only the remote..?

thanks, in advance,  for any/all help in this matter.

yes, this is how I do it...press rec+pause on the deck, set the hold on the deck.  Then press pause on the remote, you will see it start recording, then set hold on the remote.  Keep in mind that the pause will only hold for a few minutes, before it releases

it is a neat little trick...I cant remember where I learned it, but it is great to just start recording from the remote than to have to engage the deck

sorry said the wrong thing...hit play on the remote which will release it out of pause, and since you already have it rec+pause, it will start recording.

And if the flatlanders tape turned out good, I would love to get a copy...my dad is a big fan!

+t ... thanks again for all of the info.

when i said that it worked, i had used the play button - and it does work like a charm...

it would be great to have that pause to be indefinite, so you could set it up in the restroom, walk out, get position, and trigger the recording. but the pause would have to last for maybe 30+ minutes for it to be truly viable, you know..?

anyway, thanks for tie info. yes, the flatlanders tape came out fine, so i will hit you with one when i do the tracking.

agree with you on the indefinite feature.  I am getting better at starting it on pause while not viewing it in my seat, and using the remote to trigger it, but it is a matter of time til I screw that up.

and thanks for the flatlanders offer, let me know when you get it done!
