Question for MD tapers.......INport
« on: August 08, 2004, 01:35:34 AM »
I came across this product on the web:

http://www.xitel.com/product_inport.htm

I have an older MD stereo component. Would using it with this product make my transfers digital instead of analog? (I'm currently going through the headphone jack on the recorder)

Has anyone heard anything about it? Seems like it would be worth the $70 if it results in better transfers....

Thanks,

Brian

It is digital? Wow that seems like a good idea, for MD tapers of course (which has become a scarce community.)

I'll check this out.

Looks like it's Analog > Digital.  Your sound transfers are still going to be analog because the output of the MD is not Digital.  It's analog, and then you're converting the analog signal to digital.

Best way to go is to get a deck with optical out's or the HI-MD's that have the cradles with USB out.
