would a true pre(such as a v3 or mini me) help my low end?

I am currently running a Denecke AD-20.  As problem free as it has been, Im starting to see a trend of lacking low end in my big venue recordings.  Would the use of a real preamp such as a v3 or a mini me help this problem.  Its not the mics because when at a close proximity they can over kill the low end in the equation.  on 8-7 I taped the dead at Camden with 1 patcher.  He ran my signal through his Edirol ua5 and had a much warmer sound than I.  Was this a fluke through the headphones?  Would the pre do me right?  Anyone have an answer?

ad-20 is a "thin" sounding preamp - pretty weak in the bass department, but nice detail up top.  I ran one for a short time and that was its most obvious characteristic.  If you want more warmth and low end punch, go with a MiniMe or a Warm-mod UA5.

I'm not disputing your preferences but I do wonder if one can blame the lack of bass on the AD-20.

I've included a graph showing the inherent bass roll-off of the AD-20 (from simulations only - measurements are not available yet).  And yes, a noticeable bass rolloff is noticeable but I would think this drop was totally insignificant relative that found in typical mirophones, except possibly for some omni capsules.
