core sounds claims to match the dpa 406x mics that they use, *DPA does not match them. they, CS, also terminate them differently for use with thier preamps.
my new dpa 4060's run very evenly, even with no matching!
i actually checked with DPA denmark about a year ago to see if they would match the mics.
they said they would...but the process would cost 155 euros+taxes.
with the DPA batt box costing also about 150 euros, the HEBs are not a bad choice after all. and that's what I ended up buying. my pair is still about 0.5-1db apart...but i cannot notice it.
the good (and bad thing) about the HEBs is the different cabling.
it's great because you just have to plug 1 cable via a sturdy mini-xlr and you'll have made the connection to the input and output of the battery box. with the standard DPA calbing you need to plug 3 cables to get the same effect. and I bet the connections are not as sturdy / compact.
on the other hand, it's bad because you lose compatibility with the DPA accessories: for example the microdot to XLR adaptors, or the new batt box/preamp combo which provides a sometimes much needed gain to be able to run line-in.
