Need an optical> coax convertor... any suggestions?
« on: September 08, 2004, 12:42:34 PM »
Im looking for an optical to s/pdif conv. to go from my Fostex D5 to a VX pocket for DAT transfers. Are there any out there that are reliable and proven to be bit-perfect? I really havent looked around at all, just figured I would ask here first. Trying to save my D8's from some wear and tear.
thanks.

I think you're in the same situation that I'm in (http://www.taperssection.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=25659.0). I'm going to get one of these (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=15-1228) at Radio Shack. I'm not sure if it's bit-perfect.

see: http://www.canare.com/digitalaudio/digitalaudiocover.html -- for the models, you'd need a simple bnc>rca adaptor from radioshack to complete th picture.

Looks like the specific adaptor you'd need would be the bcj-xj-trb

I picked one up used off of ebay
