Topic: Security @ Park West, Chicago - what's it like?

I'm catching Josh Ritter this Wednesday at the Park West.  I know that Josh is open with taping, but I don't know if his co-bill - Sarah Harmer - is and I assume that if she doesn't want it then no body runs a stand.  I'm still new to finding out all the taper friendly bands since my stick was stealthing for the longest time.  Maybe some folks here know if she's friendly or not?

And, I guess I will still be stealthing regardless cuz I'm not gonna lug my stand there but would be helpful to know if I can just walk it in.  Don't think SW would approve that as a carry-on and not there long enough for a suitcase.

My guess is that I'll have to sneak the gear in so am wondering what I should be prepared for when arriving.  Metal wands?  Thorough pat-downs?  Do they separate the guys from the women?  If so I can possibly have my friend sneak stuff in.

I just called a friend who lives out that way and gave me the low-down.  From what he says it depends on the type of show, but whatever anyone else can comment on would be grate.

Schoeps mk41 > Sonosax > D100

Then I'm breaking a friend into taping, not sure who will sneak that in.  I think she will but we won't know 'til we get there.  It is:
AT 853 > battery box > D100

So basically, 2 rigs.

Hey Jeff -- good luck and enjoy the Josh Ritter show!  Wish I could meet up with you for the show, but I'm in Bristol UK for the next couple weeks.  Have fun!  And sorry, I have no idea about security at the Park West.

I was able to reach Sarah's managment and they are all cool with it just no board patches.  But, it'd be nice to know about Park West for any possible future trips into the windy city.  Then again, I'll find out myself tomorow.   

UK eh Brian?  Hope things are going well with the new job, assuming you are there because of it.
