help with Notmad
« on: September 27, 2004, 07:35:23 PM »
i've got a file i can't get off the jb3. using notmad explorer, i select copy to computer, it gets halfway and then shuts the little dialog down and that's it. no error message, no file on the PC, nothin.

i've had this problem before, and found a solution on here, but i searched and turned up nothin.  thanks in advance.

have you restarted the jb3 and the pc?

I've had that happen on a couple large files, and that fixed it.

Did you look at the notmad omnitome?

can you try to transfer it with the regular NJB3 software?
Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

If all else fails, you can try to transfer it to another jb3 via firewire.

Will it transfer other files or is it crapping out on all files?

it traqnsferred the encore fine, the main set craps out.

i don't have playcenter on this pc, nor do i want it if i don't have to have it..  but if dklien's suggestion of recording a minute of line-in doesn't work, then i will dust off the desktop and try to transfer it from there.

i found the threads about the new jb3 free software while searching for threads on this, but i haven't downloaded it yet. just kinda pissed that notmad has done this to me twice >:(

i taped a show and the last 20 minutes or so, i look down and I had lost power...
later i went to see if it saved the file gracefully as they say it should and it
wasn't on there.....

grrrrr..

maybe it is and I can't see it.
any opinions?

when it dies do you look at the jb3? is it off? i've had some experiences after transferring a lot of stuff where it will say on the jb3 that it is overheating and just turn itself off. when that happens you need to leave it awhile and try again later.
