MD question
« on: October 14, 2004, 09:59:14 AM »
Ok, so I have a mini disk player, is that what I need to record onto a mini disk?  I still need a mic and several other things, any help with setting this up would be great.

You need a mini disc recorder to record onto mini disc.  A quick check on your MD manufacturer's website should tell you whether your MD has record capability.

They don't have my mini disk player on their site anymore, mines a Sony MD player.  But I will keep looking around then.

I figured out that I have an MZ-EH1 Sony MD player.  So if that will help I still need to know if that can record.

Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose.

Ya I'm searching like crazy for equipment in my price range and that is good.  Which is becoming a near impossible task.

Not affiliated, yet a good deal:  http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24985

or:  http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24958

However, I will be upgrading to a JB3 this winter (unless anything similar comes out) and they are similarly priced used.  If ya gotta start over with equip., maybe go that route.

I'm thinkin like under 200 haha.  which i know sounds bad, but I think I can make it work.  Cause a JB3 would only be like 120 on ebay..then all I would need is mic+power so ya.

You can get a decent MD deck for $200. Conversely, you can get a decent pair of mics+power for $200. Expecting to get a decent rig for $200, you'd have to have the luck fairy on your side.

Luckily Christmas is right around the corner :)  Yes I am still living with my parents, but I'm only 15, so what do you expect?
