How much is lost by only having one stereo mic? Would you get better sound if you got two cheaper mics rather than one higher quality?
for stealthing I USE only one mic a m20 capsule,it's a custom solution made by jk_labs.
not all stereo mics are limited to xy, some you can change the direction and get midside too
what other stereo mic can do M/S?QuoteNeumann USM 69Ihttp://www.neumann.com/infopool/mics/produkte.php?ProdID=usm69AKG C-426Bhttp://www.akg.com/products/powerslave,mynodeid,186,id,216,pid,216,_language,EN.html
What's the cheapest way to mix two mics decently? I've looked at the UA-5 and UA-20 as well as multi-channel mini-soundboards. Are there other options?

THe M3 cap is i the M200 mic...jahQuotei either use a m21 or m20,which reminds me i have to contact jon.the ecms box has a dual output(signal split into 2).anyways stealthing is much easier with one mic(stealthing in this case, means in very hard and tough taping)
