« on: November 30, 2004, 10:00:28 PM »
I'm looking to pick up a firewire card for my JB3 transfers. Does it make a difference which one you get? I've seen them in ther $15-60 range and did'nt know if it really matterted that much? Also, if anyone knows some cheap prices on one let me know.

That's kind of what I figured....maybe the cheapo's might have slightly slower speeds. I wanted to see if anyone's had any issues with the cheaper ones.

I use Adaptec 4300.  Works great with XP.  Use the card to transfer VHS tapes to DVD too.

I ordered mine from hama..www.hama.de (the site has has two languages english/german..
the products do too.) Ive had mine for a long time, and It works really great. It was 34.95..Never had any problems, and super fast....Hama is a household name here, and the americans here always buy their electronics over others...For some reason, though germany is way behind us technologically, their computer products are amazing.....
My 2 cents....
